Innovative Storage for Plating, Mining, and High-Tech Industries
Three of the most challenging industries for storing chemicals are also areas we’ve serviced for over 30 years. The plating, mining, and high-tech industries each use aggressive chemicals, and they require chemical storage solutions that can handle highly corrosive compounds.
Top companies in the mining, plating, and high-tech industries trust Poly Processing’s innovative technologies to safely contain highly corrosive chemical solutions. Our OR-1000™ and IMFO® tank components are unparalleled when it comes to durability and reliability.
Here’s why these industries use our chemical storage solutions:
Plating
The plating industry relies on Poly Processing tanks to store the chemicals used in many different plating processes, including gold, silver, chrome, and nickel plating—as well as anodizing and galvanizing.
Our tanks are ideal for chemicals commonly used in plating, including:
- Zinc Sulfate
- Potassium Chloride
- Boric Acid
- Sodium Hydroxide
- Sodium Carbonate
- Sulfuric Acid
- Potassium Hydroxide
Plating companies often use Poly’s integrally molded flanged outlet (IMFO) system, because the flange outlet is molded into the tank itself, as an integrated system. The one-piece construction enhances long-term performance of the tank, since it doesn’t compromise the tanks hoop integrity or structural design. And because the flange is at the bottom of the tank, full drainage is achieved.
In aggressive applications, the complete flange face is protected by the OR-1000 system, which offers superior antioxidant strength.
Mining
When mining companies leach copper from oxide ore, they use concentrated sulfuric acid in many cases. This highly exothermic acid presents serious storage challenges, because it’s an extremely heavy chemical that will test the mechanical integrity of any tank system.
Poly Processing’s OR-1000 is an ideal component of a chemical storage tank solution for the mining industry. The OR-1000 is an inner-surface technology that applies an additional barrier between the crosslinked polyethylene tank and the chemical. It provides four times the antioxidant protection, and was designed specifically for applications that use sulfuric acid and other oxidizing and aggressive chemicals.
High-Tech Industry
In the high-tech industry, chemicals vary from manufacturer to manufacturer—and in many cases they’re proprietary. Many of the solutions are high-purity or ultra-high-purity chemicals that are used for things like circuit board manufacturing.
The OR-1000 makes it possible to store ultra-high-purity chemicals. Other storage tanks must be serviced every few months—requiring downtime to drain, clean, and repair the tanks. But the OR-1000 can safely store the harshest chemicals maintenance-free for years.
Innovative Solutions for Aggressive Applications
The OR-1000 and IMFO systems are both very popular among the mining, plating, and high-tech industries. For aggressive applications that require durable storage with low maintenance, Poly Processing’s innovations can’t be beat.
