NSF 61 Certification: Important Updates

Poly Processing stands alone in the chemical storage tank industry as the only manufacturer to certify not only the polyethylene tank itself, but all fittings and parts within the chemical storage tank system to NSF/ANSI 61 standards. This delivers peace of mind to water treatment facilities, knowing the entire system meets the highest standards for public safety.

Three Levels of NSF 61 Certification

  1. Or-1000 anti oxidant system used in chemical storage systems for highly oxidizing chemicals such as sulfuric acid and sodium hypochlorite.
  2. High Density Polyethylene- This is NSF 61 certified for holding potable water only.
  3. High Density Cross-Linked Polyethylene (XLPE)- The tank and all fittings are NSF 61 certified for all chemicals listed here

Complete System Coverage With NSF 61

In addition to NSF 61 certification of the three types of polyethylene storage tank materials, Poly Processing has achieved NSF 61 certification of all fittings and connections, such as nuts and bolts. This assures that no contaminants from any part of the chemical storage system can leach into the storage tank and compromise the chemicals held in the chemical storage tank.

It is worth noting that the OR-1000 technology is designed to resist the impact of heavy oxidizing chemicals, such as sulfuric acid and sodium hypochlorite. The primary concern is to extend the useful life of the storage tank and the system rather than achieving the NSF 61 certification. This enables Poly Processing to deliver a cost-effective, long lasting chemical storage solution for these demanding chemicals.
